Managing Inventory Items by Serial Number

Item with serial numbers are recorded and retrieved individually

Updated this week

Zigaflow can record and manage your stock using serial numbers.

When it is Entered

You have the choice of entering an item's serial number when:

  • It is received into stock

  • When it is in stock

  • When it is picked for delivery

This gives flexibility to work in the way that best serves your processes.

Setting an Item to use Serial Numbers

This is done on a product-by-product basis. On the item edit screen tick "Store with Unique Reference":

Note that when an item is set to use a serial number/reference, it cannot be changed back. If you made a mistake, fully delete the item (including from the "Deleted" items page) and start from fresh.

Booking into Stock From a PO/Supplier Delivery

You can enter the serial number when booking. Zigaflow will recognise items with serial numbers.

The number can also be scanned using this button:

Stock View

Serial numbers can be viewed and edited in Go To-> Stock -> Locations

Booking out on a Delivery Note

When picking on the delivery note, it is possible to select by the serial number or enter it at this point:
