Manufacture/Assemble From a Kit (and Reverse it)

Work orders allow you to manufacture assemblies from kits, consuming stock and creating the new item.

Manufacture a Kit/Assembly

Manufacturing means removing the kit items (i.e., the constituent elements of the kit) from stock and adding the completed assembly to stock.

  1. • Allocate the required stock to all the kit items. Use the Apply -> Allocate All button to speed this up.

  2. • On the kit item, click on the menu button and select ‘Manufacture’, or click on this icon in the allocation column:

This will deduct the allocated stock from the kit items and create one or more manufactured kits, which are allocated to the kit in the work order.

Reverse/Disassemble/Un-manufacture a Kit/Assembly

Where a product has been manufactured in the system, this icon will appear in the allocations column:

To reverse this, which will place constituent parts back into stock/inventory:

i) Allocate the assembly to the line item

ii) Click on the reverse/unmanufacture icon:

iii) The constituent items are returned to stock/inventory and the kit/assembly is removed from stock.
