Displaying Kits on PDFs

Kit items can be displayed in more than way

Updated over a month ago

There are three options available for displaying kits: showing all the kit items, hiding all the items, or showing some details of the kit items on the same line as the kit header. This is useful if you want to show and describe each kit item more clearly as part of the kit.

Showing All Items

For example:

This appears as follows, showing all the kit items on separate lines.

Hiding Items

Hide the items on the quotation (this can also be set against the kit items in the item edit page):

This results in just the kit header being shown:

Showing Hidden Kit Item Details and Images

You can hide the kit items, but on the PDF template, add variables referencing the kit items. We recommend placing these kits in a dedicated section and using the PDF styling to specify this in the PDF template (see the {SectionStyleKitSection} underlined in red in the image below).

Use the variables {ItemKitItemXDescription}, {ItemKitItemXImage}, {ItemKitItemXDetailsDescription}, etc. where X is the kit items number in the kit, i.e. ItemKitItem1Image, ItemKitItem2Image etc.

The section style needs to be set up in your account, and can then be set here on the quote:

The result is one line for the kit, but with kit item details and images shown within that.

Note: Kit items must be marked as hidden for this to work.
