Create a Custom Field in a module

Custom fields allow you to store additional information in a structured way in Zigaflow, ensuring the data is in a standard format.

1. Click here.

2. Click "Custom Fields"

3. Click "Quotations"

4. Click "Create Custom Field"

5. Select the field type

6. Give the field a label, in this case, "Channel"

7. For a dropdown, enter the options

8. Click "Create". This just adds it to the module you are working in

9. If it needs to be in all modules, click "Create/Update Across Modules"

10. To make it visible in the module's screens go to that module

11. Click on the module

12. Click "Screen Options"

13. Find the field and click the slider to show it

14. Click away from the sliding panel to close it

15. The field is now visible. The same method applies to the "Pipeline" view

16. To add it to the edit screen, open one of the records, in this case, a quotation

17. Click "Screen Options"

18. Click the slider to show it

19. The field appears at the bottom of the standard fields

20. It operates in the same way as a standard field

21. To add it to a document template, click on the Cog

22. Click "Document Templates"

23. Click on the document template to edit

24. Click "Search Variables"

25. Click the "Search Filter" field.

26. Type in the name of the field, e.g. "Channel"

27. Click on the variable name in the curly brackets to copy it

28. Paste the variable into the document

29. Click "Step 1: Preview"

30. Check it is displaying correctly, then click "Step 2: Save"

31. The custom field is now available in the module, and one of the documents
