Creating a Kit in the Items List

How to create a kit, which is an item made up of sub-items/sub-components.

1. Click "Go To"

2. Click "Items"

3. First, set up the component item(s). Skip this step if you already have them ready or if not, set them up in the usual way.

4. Next, set up the kit item - click "New Item"

5. Put in the name

6. Type " 1 [[Home]]"

7. Put in the Description

8. Click 'Is Kit'

9. Click "Add Item"

10. Add the items within the kit by clicking on "Kit Items"

11. Click "Add Item"

12. Find the items to add

13. Type "kit item"

14. Click here.

15. Add them to the kit

16. Click "ร—"

17. Edit the item by clicking here

18. If required, change the quantity of each item in the kit

19. Type "2"

20. To automatically hide the kit item on a Quotation or Job/Sales Order, etc., tick this box

21. Confirm the edit

22. This shows the total price and cost based on the kit items

23. To give the kit a specific price, i.e. not based on its kit items, click on 'Use Kit Price'

24. Click on the 'Prices' tab and edit the default price

25. Entering the price here

26. Confirm the edit

27. Click on the 'Use Kit Price' to toggle between a set price and the one calculated from the kit items. You can swap this around when the kit is on Quotation, Job/Sales Order, etc..

28. Click "Save Changes"
